PINK OCTOBER. BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Everyday more and more people come forward to speak about their experiences with breast cancer and we are reminded of the importance of self checking your breasts regularly. Make it part of your routine.

It is recommended that once a month, a few days after your period ends, you should check your breasts. The following link from BreastCancer.org contains the five steps to check your breasts each month.

Currently in Ireland, one in nine women will develop Breast Cancer in their lifetime. It is important to try and catch the signs early on in order to protect yourself. Look out for the following symptoms and contact your GP as soon as possible if you notice them (source: https://www.careplus.ie/wellness/265-breast-cancer-awareness-month ).
