WHAT IS GALENTINE’S DAY?
Leslie Knope celebrating Galentine's Day in Parks and Recreation
In the words of Leslie Knope: “Oh, it’s only the greatest day of the year!”.
Surprisingly, Galentine’s Day originates from the fictional sitcom Parks and Recreation. Leslie Knope (the show’s lead character) invented Galentine’s Day as a day of “ladies celebrating ladies”. Fast forward 12 years and the day has stuck, resonating with the real world and is now an annual celebration (every 13th February) of our gal pals!
HOW DO I CELEBRATE?
The best thing about Galentine’s Day is you can celebrate it however you like! Some may choose to follow Leslie Knope’s lead and enjoy bottomless brunch, whilst others may want to stay in and have a girls night! Many restaurants, bars and attractions will offer Galentine’s Day events and special deals too - the options are limitless! Get your gals together, have fun and enjoy good company and great vibes!
The key thing about Galentine’s Day is that you celebrate your gal pals. It could even be as simple as putting aside 5 minutes for a coffee and a chat.
